Blue Star fills hole in center of Westside’s eating scene

A local fan favorite, Blue Star Donuts, is moving into Beaverton. Since it opened its first store in December 2015, fans of the “Donuts for Grownups” have been begging Blue Star to come to the suburbs, according to Katie Poppe, founder and chief executive officer of the specialty doughnut company. She said she is thrilled to finally be opening a location in Beaverton.

“Don’t worry, we’re coming, we didn’t forget,” Poppe said.

She said Blue Star hopes to open its doors by late October, adding exciting flavors to the mix at Progress Ridge TownSquare, just in time for the holidays.

Blue Star Donuts Coming To Progress Ridge Townsquare

Progress Ridge Townsquare in Southwest Beaverton is getting a little sweeter thanks to the upcoming addition of the Portland-based gourmet donut shop Blue Star.

Established in 2012, Blue Star Donuts + Coffee has been expanding steadily over the past five years, opening several new locations around Portland and two in the Los Angeles area. The Progress Ridge location will mark the company’s ninth expansion and its seventh in Oregon.

Another huge shopping center trades hands, this one for $88M

It’s been a busy run for metro region retail centers over the past six weeks or so. First, Gramor Development sold its Progress Ridge TownSquare for $101 million last month, then its Timberland Town Center last week for $43 million.

Now, Westlake Realty Group Inc. has sold the 296,000-square-foot Gresham Station Shopping Center to the Ohio-based real estate investment trust DDR Corp. The reported sale price was $87 million.

Progress Ridge TownSquare sold for $101 million

A California company has bought the Progress Ridge TownSquare shopping center in southwestern Beaverton for $101 million. Donahue Schriber Realty Group’s purchase of the property from Tualatin-based Gramor Development was announced Monday. It is the largest sale price for a grocery store-anchored shopping center in Pacific Northwest history, according to officials at Capital Investments, which brokered the sale.
